THE GOOD PROFIT CERTIFICATION
In order to become a Good Profit Corporation, a firm must show it meets or exceeds certain key basic standards of a good profit company. These are listed out in detail below.
HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
A Good Profit Corporation is one which contributes to the human development of either those in it's surrounding community or society as a whole. Crucially, this is not philanthropy, charity, or side projects: the firm must be able to demonstrate that, through it's normal operation and revenue generation, it cultivates human development in either it's customers, it's community, or society at large. This human development can take any form, from increasing social and emotional ties, to highlighting and accentuating cultural development, to improving the mental or physical wellbeing of others.
THE ENVIRONMENT
A Good Profit Corporation is a steward of the environment, balancing the need for human flourishing with the human need for a hospitable land in which to flourish. This means that, through it's normal business activities, a Good Profit firm must be able to demonstrate that it in some way improves the environment. Whether this be from reducing pollutants, being a net carbon negative production facility, using recyclable or compostable materials, or supporting sustainable physical development (agriculture, construction, etc).
SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
A Good Profit Corporation ensures that it has a plan and execution strategy for ensuring continued human development and environmental steward. This means that in order to be considered a Good Profit Corporation, a firm must be able to provide proof that it has an execution plan for continuing to catalyze human development and environmental stewardship as the firm continues to scale. Furthermore, a Good Profit Corporation should be able to demonstrate that it is making a good faith effort to grapple with unintended consequences of it's business model at global scale.
